Cheap knockoff. August 2, 2010 John B. Pappas I ordered this based on the claim in the product description that this was the 'Recommended Replacement' Battery.
This product was very cheap knockoff and weighed significantly less the the original product due to the reduced amount of reactive materials used within.
The best comparison would be to take an AAA cell battery and put it in a D cell size package and pass it off to people as a D Battery.
In specific detail. My original Nikon Battery is over a year and a half old. And when fully charged will power my camera through about 200 pictures.
This cheap knockoff managed to take about 15 pictures before the battery warning light came on and it shut off less then a minute later.
Very Pleased with this purchase August 2, 2010 jcg123 So far, so good! Hope that it will continue to do fine and will have a long life!

There is an old saying, "You get what you pay for."
There is another old saying, "Some things are too good to be true."
Here is a new saying: Sometimes old sayings should be empirically verified.

Interpretation:
The results of this experiment apply to a sample of only ONE from each population. Results may vary for each individual. For example, what if "rejects" from the Pentax production line were labeled "Maximal Power"? Maybe I just happened to get one that performed very closely to the gold standard.
But based upon my results, I have purchase two more and I will test them using the same protocol and report the results attached to this review.
Postscript: The Pentax Optio W80 together with a good "noiseware" program and these low cost batteries is a rocking combo for some "off-the-road" work where you have to leave your DSLR at home, or in the trunk. (now i get to go through 2000 high res bird feeder photos looking for the one or two I know have to be prize winners... even a blind squirrel has to have a nut in 2000 pictures, right? :-)
Didnt last January 6, 2010 JET15 (Mackinaw, IL USA) Baught chareged it up it worked fine. When battery went dead the first time it would not recharge. Mine might have just been a lemon but it is something to consider.
Won't Recharge November 13, 2009 Dan J. Russell (Seattle, WA USA) I bought this battery in July to use as a backup for our Nikon Coolpix S560, while we were on vacation at Disney World. It worked initially, and recharged, maybe twice. Now it will not recharge at all. After a couple normal charge blinks, the charger goes to a rapid blink. We just put the original battery into the charger and it is charging just fine. Fortunately, this battery didn't cost much, but with the shipping, it was double the listed price and only worked for 2 recharges. We are in Mexico now, so returning it is not a viable option -- more expensive than getting something else.
