I didn't feel like dealing with a cheap aftermarket one. This one seems to be working great compared to my last one that won't hardly hold a charge anymore. This was reasonably priced for the Nikon branded one.

EN- EL3e will disappoint you. They are not covered under any warranty and you will lose your pictures when it goes out.
I purchase mine 6 months ago and it failed. Original batteries last 4 years. The upgrade (EN-EL3e) only last me 6 months.
Nikon does not offer warranty on it own product brand.
I have been a loyal Nikon customer since 1964. Nikon needs to know that they lost me to Cannon for good.
